This is a one-day class (8 am to 5 pm) held in the Triangle area in order to familiarize students with typical NC WAM wetland sites in the Piedmont.  The class will leave from the rear parking lot at the Moffatt & Nichol office at 4700 Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh. This class will visit publicly owned sites and focus on identification of basin wetlands (isolated and non-isolated). In addition, we will visit other typical wetland types found in the Piedmont including headwater forest, floodplain pools, bottomland hardwood forest, and riverine swamp forest. This class will emphasize the use and understanding of the NC WAM dichotomous key. Transportation will be by vans and lunch will be provided at a local restaurant or fast food location, although you are welcome to bring your own lunch if you have dietary constraints. This class will emphasize the use and understanding of the NC WAM dichotomous key. This class will not evaluate wetlands using the NC WAM method and is not a substitute for the longer class. Certifications of wetland key training are available upon request. The fee for the course is $175 for members of the NCAEP and $200 for non-members. Government employees can enter the registration code "GOV20" to qualify for the $175 course fee.

Class enrollment is set at a minimum of 14 registrants and a maximum of 28 registrants. Payment can be made to the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NCAEP) at www.ncaep.org. Cancellations prior to February 5 will receive a full refund. Cancellations after February 5 will receive a refund of the registration fee less a $25 administrative fee. Paid registrations may be transferred to another individual upon written request. No refunds will be given after the start of the class.
