NCAEP is pleased to announce the second round of a new lunch and learn partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District. The first meeting of the second round, Wetland Delineation Refresher, will be held on 27 June in Charlotte, with additional meetings covering the same topic being planned in Raleigh (25 July) and Wilmington (TBD).
Registration by COB on 25 June is required. Lunch will be sponsored by Wildlands. Please contact Ward Marotti (wmarotti@wkdickson.com) to learn about subsequent meetings' sponsorship opportunities and to suggest future meeting topics.
Meeting Abstract:
One of the bedrock skills of environmental field work is the ability to accurately delineate a boundary between wetlands and uplands - and to document this important work with a complete and defensible delineation report. It has been nearly a decade since the Atlantic-Gulf Coastal Plain and Eastern Mountains and Piedmont Regional Supplements came into use in NC, and this lunch and learn session is designed to provide an overview of the supplements, data forms, appropriate documentation, and to answer questions regarding the delineation of wetlands in NC. Toward that end, David Lekson, Chief of the Washington Regulatory Field Office and subject matter expert, will be sharing his knowledge and experience with us. David will also explore the importance and application of the many new computer-based tools available to wetland delineators today. Audience questions and interaction are encouraged throughout the meeting.
