What: Learn about invasive species from Misty Buchanan and Laura Gadd. We will focus on Autumn olive (Elaeagnus umbellata), pictured below, and sawtooth oak (Quercus acutissima). The goal will be to apply different concentrations of a herbicide to determine the lowest concentration for an effective kill.
Everyone will confirm the identification of the target species. We will work in teams. People will cut the plants, some will apply herbicide and mark the stump with the concentration and others will pile the plants in a central location for disposal.
