Environmental Scholarship 2008-2009

To support the academic programs of students in the environmental field the North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals (NCAEP) is offering at least one scholarship grant of up to $1,000 to a qualified junior or senior level undergraduate student and at least one scholarship grant of up to $1,000 to a qualified post graduate student. Qualified students must be majoring in an environmental field such as, but not limited to ecology, fisheries, forestry, geology, geography, toxicology, environmental engineering, environmental management, or conservation. Student membership in NCAEP is encouraged but not required.


Requirements:

Qualified students must be full-time students, in good academic standing, enrolled at and attending an accredited college or university located in the State of North Carolina for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The scholarship(s) will be awarded for the 2008-2009 academic year for an undergraduate student and may be awarded as early as summer 2008 for a graduate student who is attending summer school or is conducting summer research. Successful applicants may be asked to make a very small presentation during a quarterly dinner meeting to describe their interests and topics of study.

Selection Criteria:

Successful applicants will be selected based on responses to the application. Top applicants may be interviewed by members of the NCAEP Scholarship Committee. NCAEP Scholarships will be awarded based on the quality of the application and need for funding.


Submission Deadline:

Applications can be mailed or emailed. Mailed applications must be post marked no later than March 30, 2008. Applications mailed after this date will not be accepted. Emailed applications must be received by April 2, 2008. Email confirmation that the application has been received will be sent to each applicant.
