2008 CLASSIFICATION OF THE NATURAL COMMUNITIES OF N.C. WORKSHOP

The North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals (NCAEP), in cooperation with the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program (NHP), announces the first opportunity to have hands-on experience learning about North Carolina's Classification of the Natural Communities of North Carolina. A field trip workshop to the Piedmont of North Carolina is scheduled for May 15th and is described below.

This field trip is designed for environmental professionals, botanists, and students who are responsible for conducting community surveys during the course of their environmental assessments. The workshop will address the types of habitats commonly encountered in the Piedmont. Transitional areas will also be discussed. This trip will be especially useful for environmental professionals working on transportation, communication tower, water/wastewater, wetland and stream mitigation, and other development projects.
