SITUATION
NCAEP is celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2009 and wants you to design our new logo. NCAEP is the largest multi-disciplinary professional organization of its kind in North Carolina. The organization is comprised of researchers, consultants, regulators, educators, attorneys, engineers, geologists, and students involved in any and all aspects of environmental practice. NCAEP focuses on environmental excellence and ethics. We are looking for a logo that embodies our name and "Promoting excellence in the environmental profession".
The purposes of NCAEP are to:
- Promote standards and ethics throughout the professions that comprise environmental practices;
- Provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among professionals; and
- Provide recognition for outstanding environmental achievement in North Carolina.
OBJECTIVE
To create a logo for the North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals for unveiling at the 20th anniversary celebration in 2009. This can be a great way to increase your portfolio and gain respect and notoriety for the winning logo as well as winning the prize of $150.
LOGO GUIDELINE
Logos should include either of the following: "North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals" or "NCAEP" somewhere in the design. Beyond that, it's all you. Creativity, originality, aesthetics, use of space and color will all be used to measure the logo's merit.
Colors should be inviting and most likely earth tones will be favored. Green colors do not need to be emphasized; rather we want the images and color scheme to reflect natural resources/environmental practice. The logo must look professional and inviting. The public should immediately recognize the multidisciplinary professional organization.
SUBMISSIONS
All logos are to be submitted by 11/21/2008. Please send logos to logo@ncaep.org. Please include your name, your preferred email address, your website (if any) and your country of residence.
Logos should be submitted in .jpg or .tiff format. We are looking for a completely original logo that emphasizes our culture. Please submit as many logos as you wish. Multiple logos will not be frowned upon and give better chances of winning the prize.
RULES
All submissions become the shared property of artist and NCAEP. Entries must be received by November 21, 2008. Top entries will be recognized on the website. The entry must be your original design, and not a copy that may be subject to copyright laws. The logo committee may ask you to revise the design to incorporate different colors, fonts etc at no additional fee beyond the prize monies awarded. Prize monies will be distributed when the logo is accepted by the NCAEP Board.
