Staff of Moffatt & Nichol (John Dorney), Axiom Environmental (Sandy Smith), and the NC Department of Transportation (LeiLani Paugh and Greg Price) will conduct a 4-day course sponsored by the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NC AEP) on the latest version (Version 2.1) of the North Carolina Stream Assessment Method (NC SAM) for determining the condition of streams and other non-wetland waterbodies (such as ditches) from February 19 - 22, 2018 in and near Raleigh, NC.  This lecture and field course will focus on the method which is the standard method formally adopted by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District in their Public Notice dated April 21, 2015. The instructors were part of the multi-agency team of state and federal agencies who developed the method over the past several years and have previously taught this course using the same curriculum. The course will be taught at the NC Department of Transportation's Traffic Engineering Offices (750 N. Greenfield Parkway, Garner, NC 27529), with field sites in the Raleigh area.  The fee for the course is $720 for members of the NCAEP and $745 for non-members and includes lecture and field instruction, a copy of the most current NC SAM User Manual, field transportation, field drinks and snacks, as well as field lunches.

Class enrollment is set at a minimum of 23 registrants and a maximum of 30 registrants.  Payment is can be made to the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NC AEP)  at www.ncaep.org. Cancellations prior to February 11 will receive a full refund.  Cancellations after February 11 will receive a refund of the registration fee less a $100 administrative fee.  Paid registrations may be transferred to another individual upon written request.  No refunds will be given after the start of the class. Registrations after February 11 will be charged an additional $100.00.
